Disney Scaling Down European ‘Mulan’ Premiere As Coronavirus Continues to Spread

Amidst continued Coronavirus concerns, Disney’s live-action version of Mulan can’t catch a break. With new travel sanctions for Europe and the continued spread of the virus worldwide, the House of Mouse is having to scale back it’s premiere events for the film. 

The film premiered in Los Angeles earlier in the week and a UK launch event in London will still go ahead as planned this evening.  However, the event is now being described, according to a piece in RadioTimes as a controlled indoor screening. It was also announced that the stars will not be walking the red carpet for this event. 

This is just one of many setbacks the film is expected to have in the upcoming weeks as thousands of theaters are now shuttered across the World and audiences are being advised to avoid large gatherings. 

Another rumor in circulation (but one that we here at MickeyBlog aren’t able to confirm just yet) is that Disney has plans to postpone its release date in China which was expected to be one of the films biggest markets.  With over 70,000 cinemas closed across the country it’s easy to understand why! 

Earlier this week, we here at MickeyBlog reported that Disney had to cancel the European launch event for Disney+ which arrives in the UK at the end of this month.
