Despite the Threat of Coronavirus, Crowds Remain High at Walt Disney World
If you have been thinking now might be a good time to plan a trip to Walt Disney World because the crowds might be low, I can confirm that it not the case. Even with the looming threat of the Coronavirus, it hasn’t kept Spring Breakers away from visiting “The Most Magical Place on Earth!”
I visited Walt Disney World last week and I have to say, there has been no drop in the crowds. In fact, I was also there over Christmas and the crowds were just about the same. One day, there was even a three hour wait for Kilimanjaro Safaris in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! (Luckily, we had a FastPass!)
Disney did release a statement last week regarding the Coronavirus saying that Walt Disney World will continue to operate as “business as usual” as long as they can. And, with the exception of additional hand sanitizer stations and suspending the requirement to scan your finger when entering the Parks, it really was business as usual.
While there are current cases of the Coronavirus in the state of Florida, none of been directly linked to Walt Disney World. As the virus continues to spread across the country, this might change attendance in the Parks, but right now, crowds are just what you expect for Spring Break at Walt Disney World.
