5 Fun Facts About the Jungle Cruise You Never Knew
To celebrate today’s release of the new “Jungle Cruise” trailer, I have some fun facts about the ride that inspired the movie to pass along:
1. Tokyo Disneyland’s Jungle Cruise
The Jungle Cruise at Tokyo’s Disneyland was the first to run in a clockwise direction. Both Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom run counter clockwise.
2. Disney Legend Names the Fleet
The opening-day fleet of the Jungle Cruise at Disneyland was name by Disney Legend, Bill Cotrell.
3. The Jungle Cruise Wasn’t Always Funny
The original Jungle Cruise attraction was meant to be a “serious attraction.” There were actually only a few jokes in the script for Skippers.
4. The Countries You Visit During Your Adventure
The Jungle Cruise tours you through the rivers of Asia, Africa, and South America.
5. Another Disney Legend Wrote the Original Jungle Cruise Script
Disney Legend, Winston Hibler, wrote the original Jungle Cruise attraction script. He also narrated and co-wrote the True Life Adventure series.
Thea action-packed “Jungle Cruise” movie, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Emily Blunt, premieres in theaters July 24, 2020.
