Cranes Rise at Cinderella Castle as Painting Gets Underway

As we previously reported, Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom is getting a new look to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the iconic “Cinderella” movie. The finished product will be absolutely breathtaking and feature a “golden” look but of course, it’s going to take some time and work to give the castle its new look. And, unfortunately, that work does mean the addition of those notorious cranes as the work progresses.

Last week we reported, that some of the moat around Cinderella Castle was drained in preparation of the new paint job. Today, we can confirm that several cranes have gone airborne around the castle.

While the cranes are necessary for the repainting job of Cinderella Castle, they can be kind of an eyesore to most Guests who want to take those pictures in front of the castle. While it’s not ideal, don’t let that stop you from making a visit to Magic Kingdom this Spring and Summer! Just think you were lucky enough to be there during transformation that will go down in Walt Disney World history.

An exact timeline has not yet been confirmed, but Guests can expect the painting of Cinderella Castle – and the removal of the cranes – by the end of this Summer.
