Disney States They Have “Stringent Sanitation Procedures” In Place
The coronavirus outbreak has many concerned about not only theme parks, but also any area where lots of people are crowded together. Coronavirus or COVID-19 is passed from person to person through cough or saliva. Disney representatives tell People this week that “stringent sanitation procedures” are in place at this time.
As of today, all Disney Parks in Orlando and California remain open with no plans to close. A Disney Representative told People on tuesday, “We know there is new information this week about Coronavirus in Florida,” the spokesperson said in a statement Tuesday.
“We have very stringent sanitation procedures in place at Walt Disney World Resort. We are in close contact with health agencies for information and guidance, and at this time, we are continuing to communicate to our Cast the importance of preventative measures such as frequent handwashing and rigorous cleaning processes” (People.com).
The spokesperson went on to say, “For guest convenience, we have placed additional hand sanitizers throughout our parks and resorts and will adjust our protocols as the situation warrants.”
Disney Theme Parks in China and Japan remain closed. Other Florida Parks are also monitoring the situation daily including Universal, Legoland, and Sea World. Currently, there are two confirmed cases in the state of Florida.
The CDC continues to advise people that the best prevention is to wash your hands with soap and water, avoid others who may be sick and do not touch mouth or eyes. Basic hygiene will help reduce the spread of any disease.
