Disney Adds The Impossible to Its Menus
According to CNN.com Business, Disney and Impossible Foods have struck a deal to add Impossible’s plant-based burger to Walt Disney World, Disneyland and Disney Cruise Line.
Disney has continued to add a variety of vegan and vegetarian options to their menus. By adding the Impossible burger they hope to broaden choices for their guests.
“There’s a level of trust associated with Disney,” Dennis Woodside, president of Impossible Foods, told CNN Business. “If Disney put us on the menu, then people are more likely to try it.” Disney has a tradition of friendliness to guests with food allergies, dietary requirements and dietary choices. This is just another step in their quest to accommodate guests.
The Impossible Burger is available at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom and will be available soon at Smokejumpers Grill in Disney California Adventure. Impossible items will also be available at California Adventure Food and Wine Festival.
Impossible sees the partnership as a huge marketing opportunity. They believe many people still have not heard of or tried Impossible products. “You still have to earn the business,” said Dennis Woodside, president of Impossible foods. “It’s not a top-down decision by Disney to force every chef to use our product. But there is an endorsement”. (CNN.com)
