Chris Evans In Talks To Play The Dentist in ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ Film
According to recent reports circulating online, Captain American could be trading in his shield for a new career in dentistry? The industry has been abuzz for a while about a new movie adaptation of the musical Little Shop of Horrors.
Chris Evans, who’ll you’ll know best as Captain America in the Marvel films is apparently in talks to play the dentist, Dr. Orin Schrivello. The role of this abrasive baddie was played by Steve Martin (pictured above) in the original film.
Other reports suggest that Scarlett Johansson are reportedly considering roles in the film meaning Evans wouldn’t be the only Avenger in the film.
Bill Porter is also set to be the voice of the man-eating plant, Audrey II, in the film.
According to a recent piece in the Hollywood Reporter, Greg Berlanti whose previous credits including Love, Simon and Arrowverse has signed on to direct the film.
The story of Little Shop of Horrors focuses on a plant shopped owned by the lovable yet dweeby Seymour. He falls head over heals for his co-worker Audrey. However, when he acquires a rather unusual plant dubbed Audrey II things take a turn for the bizarre as Audrey IIs preferred diet is human blood!
The original film (which came out in 1986) famously starred Rick Moranis in the lead role as Seymour. As reported earlier this month on MickeyBlog, Moranis will also be making a return in another film – an updated Honey, I Shrunk The Kids also starring Josh Gad. Warner Bros. is overseeing the remake.
