Could You Be The Next Marvel Superhero?
Since the end of last year we here at MickeyBlog have been sharing lots of exciting details about the new Avengers Campus that promises to completely transform a whole section of Disney California Adventure Park and put you right in the middle of the Marvel Universe.
Included in this new land will be a state-of-the-art Spider-Man attraction, entertainment, eateries and of course CHARACTERS! That’s where you could come in! Disney is currently advertising casting calls for actors to take on the role of some of your favorite superheroes in preparation for the launch of this exciting new land.
As MovieWeb points out in their article about the auditions, the main criteria in being able to suit up as a Marvel character is that you need to have significant stunt experience. There are a few other qualifications that need to be met but the casting calls are open meaning anyone who meets the criteria is free to apply!

Disney is looking for actors to fill the following roles:
BLACK WIDOW – Seeking a dynamic stunt actor to portray Black Widow (5’4″ – 5’8″) with an athletic, slender build with extensive background in stunts and theatrical combat. A former KGB spy, Natasha Romanoff was recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D. for her skills in combat, espionage, and intelligence gathering. No matter the circumstance or challenge, she will do everything she can to help her friends and make any sacrifice to protect the world. Ideal candidates would be highly proficient in hand to hand combat and be able to demonstrate a series of physical skills based on the role. Skills may include, but are not limited to: acrobatic skills, tumbling, stunt baton wielding, and repelling. Theater or performance experience is a plus.
BLACK PANTHER – Seeking a dynamic stunt actor to portray Black Panther (5’10” – 6’2″) with an athletic, slender build with extensive background in stunts and theatrical combat. T’Challa is both King of Wakanda and Black Panther. He is a calm and collected leader, as well as a fierce and powerful fighter. He protects Wakanda with an unstoppable tenacity and is proud to fight alongside the Avengers and other heroes to defend the Universe. Ideal candidates would be highly proficient in hand to hand combat and be able to demonstrate a series of physical skills based on the role. Skills may include, but are not limited to: acrobatic skills, tumbling, Bo staff handling, and repelling. Theater or performance experience is a plus.
CAPTAIN AMERICA – Seeking a dynamic stunt actor to portray Captain America (5’11” – 6’3″) with an athletic, slender build with extensive background in stunts and theatrical combat. Steve Rogers always wanted to make a difference and do his part to keep his country safe. During World War II, the military transformed him from small and frail to the powerful Captain America. Captain America is always there to protect the people who need him the most. He trusts his instincts by always doing what he feels is right and leading the team. Ideal candidates would be highly proficient in hand to hand combat and be able to demonstrate a series of physical skills based on the role. Skills may include, but are not limited to: acrobatic skills, tumbling, Bo staff handling, and repelling. Theater or performance experience is a plus.
SPIDER-MAN – Seeking a dynamic stunt actor to portray Spider-man (5’6″ – 5’10”) with an athletic, slender build with extensive background in stunts and theatrical combat. When genius high-school student Peter Parker was bitten by an unusual spider, he gained superhuman strength, faster reflexes, and heightened senses. He decided to use his powers to do good and embrace his Super Hero identity as Spider-man. He’s proud to look out for “the little guy” and protect the people he cares about as their friendly neighborhood Spider-man. Ideal candidates would be highly proficient in hand to hand combat and be able to demonstrate a series of physical skills based on the role. Skills may include, but are not limited to: acrobatic skills, tumbling, repelling, and parkour. Theater or performance experience is a plus.
VILLAIN – Seeking a dynamic stunt actor to portray a Villain type character (5’11” – 6’3″) with an athletic, broad build with an extensive background in stunts and theatrical combat. This role demands a passion for action and commanding stage presence in front of a large audience. Ideal candidates would be highly proficient in hand to hand combat and be able to demonstrate a series of physical skills based on the type of role. Skills may include, but are not limited to: acrobatic skills, tumbling, sword-wielding/handling, and repelling. Theater or performance experience is a plus.
Once the Avengers Campus opens in June of 2021, like Galaxy’s Edge, it promises to be a totally immersive Marvel experience. The premise is that the Avengers are looking for new members to join their team. So far Disney has announced that the following rides and attractions will be part of Avengers Campus:
- Worldwide Engineering Brigade – also known as “WEB” – which will house our new Spider-Man experience, the first Disney ride-through attraction to feature this iconic Super Hero.
- Pym Test Kitchen – Just as Ant-Man and The Wasp use “Pym Particles” to grow and shrink just about anything, Pym Technologies is using the latest innovations to grow and shrink food at this eatery!
- Heroic Encounters – Meet some of your favorite superheroes including Black Widow, Ant-Man and The Wasp, Doctor Strange, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Super Heroes from Wakanda and Asgard, and Iron Man.
- Unnamed Avengers Attraction – Phase two of the Avengers Campus will include a brand-new E-Ticket attraction where you will step onboard a Quinjet and fly alongside the Avengers in an epic adventure to Wakanda and beyond! Visitors will get the chance to team up alongside the Avengers in a battle to save our world against one of the most powerful villains they have ever faced.
