10 Cities To Host Disney Institute Training in 2020
I’ve certainly written it before, but it bears repeating. One of the most seminal experiences in my vocational life coincided with my avocation; attending “Disney’s Approach To Quality Service through The Disney Institute.”
#DThink is Real
Of course, the setting of the course — Disneyland’s Paradise Pier Resort — was amazing. And yes, I would say I learn best by doing. However, the teachers I encountered in my Disney Institute experience were nothing short of incredible.
Cast members themselves, Julianna and Jim helped us apply their first-hand problem-solving skills — learned by years of customer interaction at the Disney Parks — to our own professional experiences.
The result was a hands-on, collaborative environment, which ignited my professional imagination.
Another shout out, #CastCompliment, to Julianna & Jim from @DisneyInstitute. They made the day fly by but remained on-task, fun, and most importantly memorable in both a personal and vocational sense. @DisneylandToday @Disneyland @WaltDisneyCo pic.twitter.com/7ZwbPdvZN4

Disney Institute: On The Road
I am heading back for another experience soon – “Disney’s Approach to Leadership Excellence.” I’ll tell you about it when I get back next month.
But I understand the logistics of heading to a Disney Park for training outside of your already full schedule and budget is daunting. I was able to combine the time into a necessary trip to the West Coast, which made the expense and time palatable to my employers. And, by happy accident, this year’s session had a similar lucky timing.
But let’s say that you aren’t as lucky in your timing. You’ve still got a bit of pixie dust to employ. This year, Disney Institute is on the road to 20 different cities throughout the United States.
Disney’s Approach to Business Excellence
Disney Institute is heading out on the road in 2020! From April through July, our facilitators will visit 10 U.S. cities to present, Disney’s Approach to Business Excellence, a one-day Disney Institute professional development course that shares select time-tested business insights and best practices driving the success of Walt Disney parks and resorts.
This new offering now makes it more convenient than ever before for business professionals to experience signature Disney Institute training live and in-person, in their local areas.
The 2020 U.S. Regional Courses will take place on the following dates, in the following cities:
- April 29, 2020 – Redwood City, California (San Francisco area)
- May 6, 2020 – Albuquerque, New Mexico
- May 13, 2020 – Columbus, Ohio
- May 20, 2020 – Portland, Oregon
- June 3, 2020 – Lexington, Kentucky (Louisville area)
- June 10, 2020 – West Jordan, Utah (Salt Lake City area)
- June 17, 2020 – Davenport, Iowa
- June 24, 2020 – Tarentum, Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh area)
- July 15, 2020 – Plano, Texas (Dallas area)
- July 22, 2020 – Evanston, Illinois (Chicago area)
And, at $500, the pricing might be a bit more palatable to your CFO.
Why Attend?
From being able to interpret the question, “What time is the 3:00 parade?” to the humorous insights delivered by my accomplished classmates and facilitators, I often think back to that session when I have to tackle a problem in my 9-5 job.
Surely, whether the session is delivered at Disneyland or Davenport, the lessons of The Disney Institute will follow you back to your workplace.
