Did Disney World Just Increase The Prices For Their VIP Tours?
A new year means a new round of price increases at Disney theme parks. Just this past week we reported that Disney World increased the prices of their stand-alone tickets and annual passes. Today we’ve got what could be another potential price hike relating to guests booking one of Disney’s VIP Tours.
The VIP Tours provide guests with front-of-the-line access to most of Disney’s awesome attractions as well as the customer service and knowledge that comes with having your own personal Guest Services cast member. They’ll whisk you around to as many parks as you like in a dat. Its a true taste of the VIP life and (as you can imagine) comes with a hefty price tag.
Booking the service requires a commitment of a mandatory minimum of 7-hours a with a price range that starts at $425 an hour! However, for guests that can afford it- you get to experience the theme parks like a celebrity.
The cost of booking a VIP Tour can vary depending on the time of year that you book. For example, those opting for a weekday during a rather slow period can expect to pay the minimum of $425 an hour. However, this rate goes up during peak periods and gets considerably higher during holidays like Halloween, Christmas, 4th of July etc.
Historically the peak period cost to use the service was capped at $625 an hour. This meant that guests opting to use Disney’s VIP Tour Guides during the busiest times of the year could expect to pay no more than this $625 hourly rate. However, visiting disneyworld.com today we stumbled upon pricing that shows a significantly higher rate.
As you can see above, the max cost to use the service has gone up to $750 per hour. That means that to use the service for 7 hours during a peak period would make the total cost a staggering $5250.00 as opposed to the $4375.00 of the previous max cost.
We aren’t sure when Disney ushered in this change but it would appear to be fairly recent with many Disney sites still referencing the old pricing.
Remember, this will only impact those opting to use the service during peak periods with off-peak rates staying steady at $425.00 an hour. So those interested in the service but slightly daunted by the increase can still inquire about the off-peak dates.
With all that in mind, if you can swing a VIP Tour we can’t recommend it enough. The sheer amount of attractions you explore with the skills of the awesome VIP guides is pure bliss! Though the hourly pricing may not favor small groups, where it works particularly well is with when you can spread the cost of the experience across a slightly larger group. A VIP Tour Guide can accommodate up to 10 guests which means that during peak period max costs would mean a total rate of about $525 per person.
Here at MickeyBlog, we’ll be keeping our eyes out for any additional price adjustments. We’ll keep you posted so keep following along!
