Celebrate Valentine’s Day With a Mexican Twist at Walt Disney World
When most people think of Valentine’s Day dinner it conjures up images of Lady and the Tramp sharing spaghetti or dinner with Eiffel Tower views but we’re here to encourage you to spice it up this February 14th with a visit to one of Walt Disney World’s incredible Mexican restaurants!
Let’s take a look at our favorites:
Frontera Cocina
If you’re heading to Disney Springs on Valentine’s Day consider a meal at Frontera Cocina by Rick Bayless. To celebrate this special day, the restaurant is offering two glasses of sparkling wine for $6 or a tequila flight for $12 per person. Ladies will also receive a rose on the day!
On top of that, you can tuck into delicious dishes including our favorite the Oaxacan Mole Chicken featuring crispy half chicken, Oaxacan red mole, plantain rice and warm corn tortillas. Another noteworthy dish is the Carnita which is slow-cooked port shoulder with garlic and lime, black bean refritos with queso fresco, guacamole, pickled red onions, salsa verde and warm corn tortillas. Don’t forget to order up the restaurants famous nachos and to save room for the Peanut Butter Chocolate Trifle for dessert which is rich and decadent!
Best of all, once you finish your meal at Frontera Cocina you have all of Disney Springs at your doorstep for Valentine’s day shopping, entertainment and more!
Maya Grill
If it’s been a while since you’ve been to Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort – its time to pop back. With the recent renovations at the addition of the awe-inspiring Gran Destino tower, this moderate resort has become a destination onto itself.
Maya Grill, located on the property has long had a reputation for serving up delicious Southwestern-inspired dishes and they’ve just unveiled a special Valentine’s Day Menu! The meal starts with an appetizer of Gorditas (stuffed masa with aged Manchego cheese, guava and tequila jam with crispy soppressata.) For a main dish you can enjoy a special Surf & Turf with corn tamale, beef and mushroom barbacoa and a 4 oz lobster tail with ancho butter and salsa roja! For dessert, you’ll end on a high note with Mexican Chocolate Semifreddo Strawberry Mole!
Advanced reservations are recommended for both of these awesome eateries and can be made by contacting your travel agent, booking via your My Disney Experience account or calling Disney at 407.WDW.DINE.
