Only a Few More Days To Enjoy Lunar New Year At Disney’s California Adventure
Where have the first few months of 2020 gone!? It seemed like just yesterday we were harkening in the New Year and today we’re here to tell you that there are only a few more days left of Disney’s Lunar New Year celebration at Disney California Adventure.
Celebrate the Year of the Mouse by experiencing Asian culture through cuisine, musical performances, family activities, dazzling entertainment and more now through February 9th. Here’s a quick look at some of the awesome experiences you can enjoy during your visit!
See “Hurry Home – Lunar New Year Celebration”
Just before World of Color takes to the night sky over Pixar Pier there’s a special Lunar New Year Water show that tells the heartwarming tale of a little lantern’s quest to reunite with his family for this annual celebration of good fortune.
Watch “Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession”
Mulan headlines this bright bold parade and dedicates the new year’s blessings to family and friendship. As a special treat for Year of the Mouse, Mickey and Minnie will also be a part of the procession in their new celebration attire. Talented performers are also on hand to bring dance, martial arts and drumming to enhance the procession.
Taste Delicious Asian-inspired cuisine
If you’re planning a visit to Lunar New Year, be sure to bring your appetites. You’ll find special festive marketplaces where you can sample a variety of food and beverages inspired by Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cultures! Highlights include Smoked Beef Bulgogi Shortrib on Rice Cake from Lucky 8 Lantern and Purple Yam Macaron with Crème Fraîche from Red Dragon Spice Traders. Want to sample a bit of everything? Then grab a Sip and Savor Pass, a souvenir credential with six pull-off tabs that can each be traded for one food item or one non-alcoholic beverage at any of the Marketplaces.
Enjoy live entertainment
Throughout the day you’ll find live, daily performances by authentic Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese dancers and musicians can be enjoyed throughout Paradise Gardens Park.
Encounter Disney Characters
Also in Paradise Gardens Park, some of the most loved Disney characters are festively dressed to usher in the Year of the Mouse while posing for pics, signing autographs and sharing hugs.
Pick Up Commemorative Merchandise
Set aside some money to pick up Disney’s exclusive line of Lunar New Year merch. This includes all-new spirit jerseys, bobble-head figures with Chip and Dale, a traditional red envelope set, themed Minnie Mouse ear headbands and more are available at Disney California Adventure park.
Make a Wish
Stop by the Lucky Wishing Wall located in Paradise Gardens Park where you can add your own special message of hope, health and happiness for the upcoming year. Nearby you’ll also find complimentary arts and crafts with local artisans. This includes Chinese calligraphy, dragon’s pearl coloring craft and face painting.
