Disney Cruise Line Launches Lighthouse Point Website
Disney Cruise Line recently registered LightHousePointBahamas.com as an informational website for the new cruise port development project in the Bahamas. This will be the second location for Disney Cruise Line. Many sailings already stop at the popular Castaway Cay.
Disney made a commitment to the Bahamas to use Bahamians for this second private cruise destination project. The website is designed by Felicia Woodside of Felicia Creative a Bahamian company.
The website features sections on development, culture, environment and community. The environment section attempts to address the most controversial issue with the development, the conservation of the land and marine life involved. Joe Rohde, the designer of Animal Kingdom, shares details under the culture section of the website.
He reiterates previous information from D23 where he commits to preserving the Bahamian culture of the island even with DCL’s presence.
The website also includes a concept plan showing adventure camps, natural trails and a spa/wellness center on the island. It also boasts zip lines, tree trails and water slides. The popular Family Beach, similar to Castaway Cay’s, will also make an appearance.
