Baby Yoda will be Back for Season 2!
Disney+ announced today Season 2 of the very popular Star Wars series The Mandalorian will debut October of 2020. Fans of the series’ most well-known character Baby Yoda have been waiting for the announcement which was made by Walt Disney boss Robert Iger during the company’s quarterly earnings call.
Iger stated Baby Yoda “has taken the world by storm,” and promised that fans can expect more consumer products featuring “The Child”. These will be hitting the market in the coming months and include a life-size Baby Yoda statue from Sideshow Collectibles for a cost of $350.
In more exciting news for fans of the series, Iger hinted the possibility of spinoffs of The Mandalorian. These spinoffs could include more familiar Star Wars characters headlining in their own series. Obi-Wan himself, Ewan McGregor said he has been watching The Mandalorian to prepare for the upcoming “Kenobi” project with Disney +.
Disney + has 28.6 million subscribers to date after just three months. The Mandalorian certainly deserves some of the credit for Disney + success and with upcoming projects announced for Marvel characters, The Falcon and Winter Soldier and WandaVision further success is certain.
But, “The Child”, known in pop culture as Baby Yoda, will continue to steal the show. His merchandise will continue to sell, memes will continue to be made and fans will continue to wait until October 2020 when they will get to see Baby Yoda’s next move.
