Your Guide to Dining at Animal Kingdom Lodge
One of my favorite parts about staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel are the dining options. Disney’s resorts all offer a wide-range of choices, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is a deluxe resort that offers something for everyone. From room service to signature dining, here is everything you need to know about dining at Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Jiko – The Cooking Place
This signature dining option is located in Jambo House, off of the main lobby. This restaurant is only open for dinner and offers beautiful views of the property, and unique African cuisine. Each Wednesday, sample wine tastings are held exploring Jiko’s collection of South African Wine.
Ask about the Wanyama Safari Encounter, a 90-minute safari around the property’s 46 acres of savanna. This tour ends in a multi-course meal, including dessert and South African wine pairings. Advance dining reservations are strongly recommended for dining, wine tasting, and safari adventures. Jiko does require a dress code; for more details visit their website.
Sanaa
Another option for dining at Animal Kingdom Lodge is Sanaa. Head over to Kidani Village for a more casual restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner. While the quick-service breakfast at Sanaa will not require a reservation, reservations are recommended for lunch and dinner. You will enjoy viewing the animals on the savanna, and don’t forget to ask about the bread service!
For a unique lunch experience, book a reservation to dine with one of Disney’s Animal Specialists. You will enjoy a four-course meal, and learn about the property’s conservation efforts. Finally, if drinks and appetizers are more your speed, visit the Sanaa Lounge.
Cape Town Lounge & Wine Bar, and Victoria Falls Lounge
Back at Jambo House, you’ll discover two more lounges. Cape Town Lounge is located near Jiko – The Cooking Place, and allows you to order from Jiko’s full menu. Victoria Falls Lounge is located near Boma, and offers a variety of drinks and appetizers. Check out these great options for unwinding after a busy day in the parks.
Boma – Flavors of Africa
You will not want to miss out on Boma – Flavors of Africa, an incredible buffet available for breakfast and dinner. Because Boma offers such a wide variety of options, your whole family will find something to enjoy!
Whether you’re looking for classic Mickey waffles or something more unique, Boma will be an experience you won’t forget. Reservations are recommended, therefore be sure to make yours well in advance.
The Mara
For convenience and quick-service when dining at Animal Kingdom Lodge, look no further than The Mara! Enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner options that are sure to fit your budget. Order at the counter, or visit the refrigerated section for pre-packaged snacks.
This is a great place to pick up some Zebra Domes, or fill up your refillable resort mug. Pro tip: book a savanna view room, and bring breakfast back to your balcony, to enjoy while watching the animals!
Uzima Springs Pool Bar and Maji Pool Bar
For ultimate relaxation, spend the day by the pool and enjoy the offerings of two different pool bars. At Kidani Village, enjoy the Maji Pool Bar. Its counterpart Uzima Springs Pool Bar is located at Jambo House. Unwind with cocktails, beer, wine, and sangria; as well as a selection of casual meal options.
Room Service
From casual dining to special celebrations, room service is a fantastic option for dining at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Menus are available in your resort room, and you may call from your in-room phone to order.
There is something for everyone at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Whether you’re enjoying a full stay, or just visiting for one meal, your family will love exploring the options at this amazing resort!
