Army Dad Surprises 5 Children at Walt Disney World
An Army father surprised his five children at Walt Disney World on Friday in a video that is sure to pull at your heartstrings! U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Byron Yates returned home after a year of being deployed in Syria!
His children were not expecting him home until March so watch what happens when dad shows up during a trip to the Magic Kingdom.
According to a recent report on Channel 8 News in Tampa, the Staff Sgt. Yates said this about being away from his kids, “Not being able to see your kids, hug them or kiss them or read them bedtime stories, it’s probably the hardest thing.”
The kids were treated to a Disney World visit by mom Samantha where they spent their time enjoying rides and posing with some of their favorite Disney princesses! The family were posing for a photo with Princess Aurora when the dad walked up behind them!
“We started to take pictures with the kids and he was hiding in the background. He just came out and surprised them,” said Samantha Yates.
As you can see from the image above, Yates’ 3-year old daughter was so caught up in the magic of Disney that it took a moment for Dad’s appearance to register!
So how was the reunion!? As you can see from the images above it was quite an emotional experience, “I did cry a little bit. I did a good job hiding it in the video, but I shed a couple tears. I think everyone was crying. It was an emotional experience,” said Staff Sgt. Yates.
