Live-Action ‘Peter Pan’ Receives New Title, Production to Begin in April
DiscusssingFilm.net is reporting that the live-action version of “Peter Pan” has been just received a new name. The remake will now be called “Peter Pan and Wendy.” It is also being reported that production on the film will begin in April of this year in Canada.
David Lowery has been tapped to direct the “Peter Pan” remake and will also co-write the film with Toby Halbrooks. Fans will know Lowery from his work with “Ain’t Them Bodies Saints,” “Pete’s Dragon,” “A Ghost Story,” and “The Old Man & the Gun.” He also worked with Halbrooks in writing “Pete’s Dragon.”
The live-action remake will be produced by Jim Whitaker. He is no stranger to Disney movies as he also worked on “A Wrinkle in Time.” He is also set to produce the upcoming “Timmy Failure” which will debut on Disney+.
It is not known at this time if the live-action “Peter Pan” will land in movie theaters or will go directly to Disney+ but reports are leaning to a Disney+ premiere.
