See How TRON Coaster Construction Is Coming Along at Magic Kingdom

In case you haven’t heard, Tomorrowland at Disney’s Magic Kindom will be getting a brand new indoor coaster scheduled to open in 2021. The TRON attraction draws its inspiration from the popular TRON Lightcycle Power Run which has proven to be a popular headlining attraction at Shanghai Disneyland!

The coaster-style attraction will allow riders to board a train of two-wheeled Lightcycles for a race through the digital frontier! During a visit today to the Magic Kingdom, our MickeyBlogger was able to nab some new photos of the construction site. Let’s take a look!

While previous construction updates have shown the track for this indoor coaster being laid, that work is complete and now the overall structure of the building that will house TRON is starting to take shape!

We were mighty impressed by the towering structure!

From this angle, some of the track can still be observed.

As you can see from the awesome image below, the TRON coaster will sit adjacent to Space Mountain in the Tomorrowland section of the Magic Kingdom!

Though the impact of the construction to theme park visitors is minimal, the Walt Disney World Railroad is not currently making the rounds. Rather guests can view the train at the Main Street Station where it will be stationed until track adjustments are made!
