Get Prepped for ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ With These Shows Now on Disney+
If you’re a fan of the Star Wars saga then there’s no doubt that you’re already commencing countdown for the opening of The Rise of Skywalker this weekend. You can get prepped for your journey to a galaxy far, far away by recapping with some pretty awesome Star Wars programming now available for DIsney+ subscribers.

Star Wars: Episodes IV, V, and VI
The saga that started it all! These three movies are now the stuff of legend! You can follow the adventures of Luke, Leia and Han as they square off against the Empire and ultimately the mysterious Darth Vader. The original trilogy is now available on Disney+ so relive these moments before heading off to the theater to see The Rise of Skywalker.
Star Wars Episodes I, II, and III
Though technically prequels to the films listed above, they were actually filmed much later. These three films chronicle Anakin Skywalker’s transformation into Darth Vader. Though this origin story doesn’t have as many fans as the three original films there are still a lot of great moments worth re-capping.

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
Representing a new “Disney” era of Star Wars the new trilogy starts with The Force Awakens and introduces us to a new cast of characters including scavenger Rey, ex-Storm Trooper Finn and Resistance Pilot Poe Dameron. These characters grew up hearing stories of Luke, Leia, Han and more! With the emergence of the First Order it’s up to a new generation of heroes to save the day. The soon to be released The Rise of Skywalker rounds out this trilogy.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Solo: A Star Wars Story
Putting the Skywalker Saga aside, there are still more awesome movies providing a terrific immersion into the Star Wars Galaxy. Rogue One for instance is set before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV and provides us with a thrilling tale of how the Rebels took down the Death Star. Another great film is Solo which provides a bit of backstory for one of your favorite Star Wars characters. Though neither are part of the Skywalker Saga they are filled with rich history and details that is sure to enhance your Star Wars knowledge!
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Set in between Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, this beloved film and animated series finally shows us what happens during the often mythologized Clone Wars. Anakin, his apprentice Ahoska Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Padmé, and more face new challenges as war tears apart the galaxy.
Star Wars Rebels
Set before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, Star Wars Rebels chronicles the adventures of a team of heroes who join the battle against the Galactic Empire. If you’re a fan of the original three Star Wars movies, this series taking place around the same time is sure to be your new favorite.
Star Wars Resistance
Kazuda “Kaz” Xiono’s life changes forever when the pilot is recruited by Poe Dameron to join the Resistance. Is Kaz in over his head pretending to be a mechanic while investigating the First Order? Set just before the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens this series sets the scene for the final three Skywalker Saga films.
The Mandalorian
Ever since Boba Fett carbon-froze our hearts in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars fans of all ages have loved the armor-clad Mandalorian warriors. With new episodes dropping every Friday through December, The Mandalorian on Disney+ follows the adventures of a single, mysterious bounty hunter known as “Mando.” Events take place after the fall of the Empire. And in case you haven’t heard, we have two works for you BABY YODA.
Star Wars: Forces of Destiny
This animated series offers short adventures featuring beloved Star Wars heroines like Rey, Padmé, and Ahsoka Tano as they help shape the destiny of the galaxy. While you wait to find out what happens next to your favorite Star Wars characters, this is a great way to discover what happens in between the films and series—plus, enjoy some fun team-ups like Sabine Wren and Jyn Erso or Princess Leia and Hera Syndulla.
Empire of Dreams: The Story of the Star Wars Trilogy
Go behind-the-scenes of the production of the original Star Wars trilogy, where you’ll learn all about the trials and successes that went into creating this cinema-changing series. If you love Star Wars, this documentary will delight you with story behind the films’ creation.
LEGO Star Wars
Fans of LEGO also won’t want to miss this fun take on Star Wars. Disney+ has a variety of LEGO Star Wars series and shorts to keep a grin on your face as you enjoy the world of Star Wars built a whole new way.
