Families of Fallen Soldiers Head to Hollywood Studios
Yesterday was a good day. MickeyBlog was on the scene while many families of fallen U.S. military members experienced Hollywood Studios. Gary Sinise and the Snowball Express made it all possible for Gold Star families.
In fact, over 1,750+ children of the fallen and their surviving parent or guardian were honored this week with a five-day Walt Disney World vacation in Florida.
The beauty of Disney is that it can bring a smile to any child or adult’s face. Those smiles evolve into lasting memories. We were proud to share a few minutes with these wonderful recipients.
The red Gary Sinise Foundation t-shirts and patriotic lanyards lent well to the Mickey ear accessories for these guests.
We were told by many of the Gold Star families that they were able to experience Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Even better, they had access to Rise of the Resistance available to them as well. No FastPass or Boarding Group needed
According to a press release from American Airlines, the official airline of the Gary Sinise Foundation – Snowball Express, “Gary Sinise Foundation Snowball Express (GSF SBE) will offer a variety of activities and entertainment, including a concert from Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band.”
Standing outside Rise of the Resistance, these family members were all smiles. It was a pleasure to meet all of them.
Gary Sinise took to Instagram to memorialize the meeting with several of the children of the fallen soldiers prio to their flight to Orlando. Recognize him from the photo above and below?!

Today begins our GSF Snowball Express #14. Over 1000 Gold Star Children travel with surviving parent or guardian, over 1,750 in all, via our travel partner @americanair to Disney World as part of our @garysinisefoundation Snowball Express program. This charter left Los Angeles this morning with 91 kids, 176 in all, and I got to take these photos with them before they left. I’ll join up in a few days. Have fun kids! We love you!
KCAL interviewed Gary Sinise on the Snowball Express Initiative and provided insight on how the Foundation benefits families.
Please take a look at the official Gary Sinise Foundation Impact video. It will be the best thing you watch all day. I promise. You can donate to the Gary Sinise Foundation here.
