Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – “Friendship”
The Rise of Skywalker marketing continues to, um — well — rise. And today we got another nostalgic look behind the scenes of 42 years of Star Wars films.
The Rise of Skywalker: Friendship Featurette
Now, obviously, I would like to see as much new footage as possible. But these glimpses behind the scenes of both the Original Trilogy are very, very nice.
HOWEVER, even as the marketing continues to tug at the heartstrings, I am getting a bit of the “we used practical effects” deluge we got prior to the release of The Force Awakens.
Remember this?
As far as I am concerned, they could perform Star Wars with marionettes and I would watch it. However, I wonder if the powers that be are trying to subliminally subvert any lingering negativity from the two previous Star Wars films (Solo, The Last Jedi). A kind of, “Hey we based this on the tone of the Original Trilogy, so don’t hate us…”
Whatever. I am happy. We have new Star Wars every week. And a new movie coming in a couple of weeks.
So, here’s hoping they keep posting commercials every day, too. Hang on, tight.
