Marvel’s Tom Holland: One “Special” Phone Call Saved Spider-Man
Hey, many of us have been there. A couple of “oat sodas,” a wink, a nod, and a phone call. Recently, Marvel’s Tom Holland described one such call. But there were no regrets after this conversation.
Check out the clip from Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Tom talks about working with the Russo brothers in Cleveland, going to Browns games, working for his brother, hiring his other brother as his personal chef, making the movie Spies in Disguise with Will Smith, taking a carpentry course, and the call he had (three pints in) with Disney CEO Bob Iger to save Spider-Man.
Tom, This is Bob Calling
Tom’s Boss, Bob Iger, spoke about saving Spidey in an earlier clip:
Jimmy’s boss Bob talks about his sneaker addiction, leaving Jimmy out of his new book “The Ride of a Lifetime,” how he got his start, meeting Frank Sinatra, the possibility of running for President, Oprah’s endorsement, the many purchases he has made as Disney CEO, and saving Spider-Man with the help of Tom Holland.
ComingSoon.net explained:
Holland explained that he was the first one to reach out for Iger in an email to thank him for “changing my life in the best way.” When Iger replied, he told the Disney CEO that he could call him whenever was possible. However, when the big call finally came, Holland was in a pub with his family and had already drank three beers… Holland still had a positive and sincere conversation with Iger which was followed by “a bunch of phone calls back and forth from [Sony CEO] Tom Rothman” asking him “what do you think? [about the situation].”
