Support the Resistance or First Order With Rise of the Resistance Jobs on the Play Disney Parks App
One of the wonderful things Imagineers included in your visit to the planet of Batuu at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is the ability to unlock fun interactive storylines via the Play Disney Parks App. Today we here at MickeyBlog are excited to let you know that there are now two new jobs that you can “play” using the app to enhance your Rise of the Resistance experience.
Rise of the Resistance opens tomorrow (December 5) at Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World and will also be opening on January 17th at Disneyland Park in California! The ride is designed to take guests on a harrowing adventure and into the middle of a climactic fight between the Resistance and the First Order. Guests with the Play Disney Parks App on your smartphone can use the Star Wars: Datapad function to choose which side of the fight you’d like to be on! This choice allows you to select new jobs within the app as you move through the Resistance clearing and towards the attraction!
Here’s a quick look at some of the fun you can expect:
Distress Signal Received
Those opting to help the Resistance will receive a distress signal from Finn who is undercover on a Star Destroyer near Batuu. You can help him navigate the ship by selecting his path (possibly even freeing Resistance prisoners in the process.) You’ll also have the ability to reprogram droids and gather information on what the First Order is up to! Depending on the route you choose you’ll uncover items and schematics to help!
Infiltrate Resistance Recruitment
Those on the side of the First Order will be tasked with surveilling and reporting back on the status of Resistance supplies. You’ll communicate with a First Order Officer as you make your way through the area. Under her instructions, you may be tasked to scan crates, intercept transmissions or event plant tracking devices!
Look for the new Star Destroyer icon in your Datapad to take on these new jobs. Will you support the Resistance? Or help the First Order?
In addition, as we previously reported here at MickeyBlog, you can also use your scanning tool to discover new items around Black Spire outpost or trade with fellow galactic travelers. There’s also hacking, tuning and translation tools that will help you explore the land. You may learn something from a local droid, intercept local chatter or even learn the galactic language!
You can even help Hondo Ohnaka sort cargo during an in-queue game at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run or join in “Outpost Control” to show where your true loyalties lie!
