Disney also reminds us that there is a giving element to Thanksgiving which Disney chefs do every day with theme parks guests and twice each month when they make culinary contributions to Central Florida residents who otherwise wouldn’t have a hot meal. This is done through the Disney VoluntEARS program in conjunction with Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida. This local non-profit serves up over 20,000 meals to those in need each year. A whopping 9,000 of those are prepared by Disney chefs.
One of the most important meals each year is undoubtedly Thanksgiving. And each year a Disney Chef brings a traditional holiday meal to the Coalitions’ residents. These meals include all of the important holiday fixings including turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, stuffing, salad, rolls, cranberry sauce and dessert and are handed out to residents that call the coalition home.
Why not follow Disney’s lead and encourage your family to give something back to the community this holiday season and be sure to try out some of these Disney tricks for yourself!
