‘The Lion King’ ‘Galaxy’s Edge’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Earn Grammy Nominations
Today the nominations were announced for the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards which will take place in January and Disney had a few noticeable nominations for the studio’s live-action version of The Lion King, the Marvel blockbuster Avengers: Endgame and also for the Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort.
Nominations for Best Score Soundtrack For Visual Media includes both Alan Silvestri’s Avengers: Endgame theme as well as The Lion King by Hand’s Zimmer. Marc Shaiman also received a nod in the same category for Mary Poppins Returns.
The Lion King was also nominated for its soundtrack featuring Beyoncé. In addition, Beyoncé who voiced the role of Nala in the film was nominated for the song “Spirit.”
Joining Beyoncé as a nominee in the category for best song list for visual media is Randy Newman with “The Ballad of the Lonesome Cowboy” from Toy Story 4.
And last but definitely not least, beloved composer John Williams is aiming for his 26th Grammy win having been nominated for the “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Symphonic Suite” which he created specifically for these Star Wars-themed lands in Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
