Construction Noticeable as Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House Refurbishes Guest Rooms

One of our favorite Walt Disney World Resorts is currently in a state of transition.  Animal Kingdom Lodge – Jambo House has been refurbishing all of their guest rooms and when our MickeyBlogger popped by this afternoon, there was definitely a sense that work was going on at the property!

Guest rooms are getting a massive overhaul with impressive updates including hard flooring, walk-in showers, more ornate headboards, new furniture, updated window treatments, Lion King-themed touches, enhanced ceiling trim lighting and so much more!  We’ve seen the new rooms and can assure you that they are nothing short of fantastic! But in the meantime, there’s definitely some construction to contend with. 

During our afternoon visit to Animal Kingdom Lodge this afternoon, lots of work was being carried out in the overlook area with cranes, areas cordoned off and signage announcing the work. 

Here’s a look of the overlook area from the main lobby at Jambo House with the majestic views being temporarily disrupted. 

Here’s a look another look at the external work being carried out from the savanna viewing area. 

Refurbishment signs can also be found throughout the property. 

Finally in the image below you can see the guest rooms currently closed to the public while the renovations are carried out. 

Our sources tell us that the majority of the work should be completed on the standard guest rooms before the end of the year. After that Disney will focus on renovating the studios at Jambo House into early next year!
