John Lewis Accused of Borrowing ‘Frozen’ Plot for New Christmas Ad
Having lived in the UK for 10 years I can tell you that the annual John Lewis Christmas ads are a HUGE deal! Nothing harkens the start of the British Holiday Season then these emotional feel-good holiday adverts from this popular High Street department store.
However, this year’s ad has become quite the talking point and not for the ‘right reasons.’ It features an admittedly adorable dragon who wreaks havoc on his village with his magical fire powers! What ensues is a fun clip filled with hijinks but with enough similiarties that viewers are taking to Twitter to criticize John Lewis of borrowing too heavily from Disney’s ‘Frozen’ franchise.
Here are some of the comments:
John Lewis Christmas ad creation process… Let’s just throw together GOT and Frozen and turn Elsa in to a dragon for good measure. Bound to be a crowd pleaser. Personally I love it! #ExciteableEdgar

Is it just me or does the John Lewis advert remind you of frozen where Elsa freezes everything ? Such a cute advert tho🥺🥰❤️ #johnlewischristmasadvert #johnlewis
