Construction Update: Bongos Is Being Slowly Transformed Into Beatrix
Earlier this year, Bongos, The Cuban restaurant owned by Gloria Estefan closed its doors in Disney Springs with plans to re-open a new restaurant concept when Margaritaville Orlando Resort opens. However, the space on the West Side of Disney Springs once occupied by Bongos won’t remain vacant for long! The location will soon be home to a new restaurant Beatrix.
Beatrix is a restaurant owned by Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, a Chicago based restaurant group. The restaurant will be designed to feel like your neighborhood restaurant, coffeehouse and grab-and-go market and will feature healthy food options. Guests will be able to choose from a range of vegetarian, gluten-free and vegan options. There will also be a delicious array of fresh-squeezed juice cocktails, a bakery and a bar with an extensive All- American beer and wine menu!
As you can see from the images above, most of the interior and facade of Bongos is being removed.
However, you can still see the palm tree design on the outer patio.
From this distance shot, you can also see a palm tree in the courtyard and the metal pineapple on the roof. However, that’s pretty much all of Bongos that remains.
As of going to print an official opening date for Beatrix hasn’t been announced. However, you can get a sneak peek of the Beatrix concept by visiting their website here! Also, keep following along with MickeyBlog for the latest Disney Springs news and updates!
