Eight 21st Century Fox Films Coming to Disney+
As Disney prepares to launch its Disney + streaming service a lot of attention has been paid to all of the new Disney programs and Disney classics headed to the channel with a bit of Star Wars and Marvel thrown in for good measure. However, not too much has been revealed regarding what 21st Century Fox titles will find their home on the service given Disney’s recent acquisition of Fox.
With that in mind, here’s a look at 10 Fox Titles coming to Disney+ that you’ll want to be on the lookout for!
Miracle on 34th Street
This 1947 Fox film is definitely a bit of a national treasure! It follows a man named Kris Kringle who plays Santa Claus at New Yorks famous Macy’s Story. Watch as Susan Walker (played by a young Natalie Wood) tries to figure out whether he might be the real Santa!
Thumbelina
Another animated classic has entered the fold! The film is based on the fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen and tells the story of a small girl trying to make her way back home. It also boasts a soundtrack helmed by the one and only Barry Manilow!
The Sandlot
This classic coming of age film follows the adventures of a group of young baseball players during the Summer of 1962. You can’t help but be moved by this crew as they visit the carnival and have an encounter with the Beast! If you’ve not seen this cult classic definitely be sure to add it to your much-watch list.
Never Been Kissed
Here’s a 90s throwback for you! This romantic comedy from 1999 stars Drew Barrymore who goes undercover at her former high school to cover the good, bad and the ugly of adolescence.
The Home Alone Trilogy
This classic film franchise and two of its sequels will be available on Disney+ from launch date just in time for your favorite holiday movie marathons. Each one tells the tale of kids left to fend for themselves during the holidays and have collectively become a pop-culture juggernaut! Any of these flicks would be perfect for a Christmas-themed family movie night.
Flicka
This charming tale of a girl and her horse who work to defy the odds will definitely make you laugh, cry and everything in between! This heartwarming tale of human-animal friendships should be right at home with Disney!
Avatar
With Pandora: The World of Avatar at Animal Kingdom, Avatar already feels like a part of the Disney family! While we’re waiting for the sequels its nice to know that we revisit the original on Disney+. It held the title of the highest-grossing movie of all time for 10 years. If you haven’t seen it yet- now is your chance!
Sound of Music
Not only will we get to see Julie Andrews in Mary Poppins and Princess Diaries, this Academy Award-winning film will also be coming to Disney+. This much-loved story about a nun-turned governess who brings music into the life of a large family has been a favorite for the bast 50 years. The songs are classic, the performances unforgettable and the story is perfect for the Holiday Season!
