Josh D’Amaro To Begin Role at Walt Disney World Resort

As of Monday morning, Josh D’Amaro will officially take over as president of the Walt Disney World Resort. We had announced back in September, the Walt Disney World Resort would be getting a new president. 

In this new role, D’Amaro will be responsible for the business of all four of the resort’s theme parks, 28 resort hotels, four golf courses, two full-service spas, a multi-modal transportation system, Disney’s Wedding Pavilion, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and the Disney Springs entertainment-shopping-dining complex. 

D’Amaro previously worked at Walt Disney World Resort as senior vice president overseeing marketing strategy, sales, and business development. In addition, he also served as senior vice president resorts and transportation and vice president of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.  

George Kalogridis

George Kalogridis has held this position of Walt Disney World President since January 2013. During his time Disney World has seen the addition of Galaxy’s Edge, Pandora, the Disney Skyliner, Disney’s Riviera Resort (set to open in December), and the transition to Disney Springs and expansion at Coronado Springs. 

Kalogridis will remain in Orlando where he will develop strategic business initiatives. He will also lead the Disney Institute and be a strategic adviser to park operators, and the official “global ambassador” for Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th Anniversary Celebration.

D’Amaro had been President of the Disneyland Resort since March 2018. He completed his last day in the role on Friday, November 1, 2019.
