Disappearing Sails and Missing Seats: More Items Reported Missing From Magic Kingdom
Earlier this Fall, here at MickeyBlog, we reported that an ex-Cast Member was arrested for allegedly stealing items from a now-retired Epcot attraction as well as costumes from the Haunted Mansion. However, these aren’t the only items that have gone missing at the theme parks as of late. According to a recent report in the Orlando Sentinel, Disney World has reported and additional $20,000 worth of missing from the Magic Kingdom, according to a new report filed by Orange County law enforcement.
Last week, a Cast Member noticed that a set of sails used on the pirate-ship themed ride vehicles at Peter Pan’s Flight had gone missing from a storage shed located at Epcot behind the Test Track ride. The missing items were noticed during a recent inventory count.
According to reports, after closer inspection, it was also noticed that a shell and three seats for another Magic Kingdom attraction – Space Mountain were also missing. The missing items were flagged and Disney notified the Orange County Sheriff’s Office regarding the theft.
