Virgin Atlantic Unveils New Galaxy’s Edge 747
Last week we spoke to you about a new LATAM jet out of Brazil that was given a massive Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge makeover and today we have another to share with you! Check out the brand new Star Wars Livery that Virgin Atlantic revealed this week. It will appear on its B747 aircraft to celebrate the Galaxy’s Edge experience at Walt Disney World!
As you can see from the image above, the jumbo features an image of the Millennium Falcon and will go into service on Virgin Atlantic’s Gatwick-Orlando route starting today! It’s even been renamed “The Falcon.” According to details released by Virgin Atlantic, the decal created to adorn the aircraft was 44 metres long, took three weeks to print and used 14,000 millimetres of ink!
Commenting on the livery Dave Napper, Senior Engineer, Virgin Atlantic said:
“It was a very exciting brief to be able to redesign our aircraft livery to represent something as iconic as the Millennium Falcon and it’s not something that you get to do every day.We have many Star Wars fans within the company who jumped at the chance to get involved in some way, and we cannot wait to see ‘The Falcon’ take flight.”
Here’s a quick video showcasing this awesomely decorated aircraft!
