Spoiler Alert: ‘Toy Story 4’ Alternate Ending Changes Woody and Bo Peep Outcome
As we reported earlier here at MickeyBlog, Toy Story 4 is slated for release via digital download on October 1st and on Blu-ray on October 8th. One of the clips included in the bonus features is a look at an alternate ending to Toy Story 4 that would have completely changed the entire narrative arc of the film as you know it.
SPOILER: If you’ve already seen the film (which earned over $1billion worldwide at the box office this past Summer) you’ll know that Woody made the shocking decision to split off from his longtime friends in Andy’s (then Bonnie’s) room. Instead, he chooses an ownerless life on the run with Bo Peep who made her return in the film. But wait until you see what could’ve happened:

As you can see from the clip above, Bo’s “who needs a kid” philosophy is upended when she realizes that Harmony the kid from the antique shop is actually the child for her. Her choice to give a new child a chance means saying good-bye to Woody once again!
This new alternate ending is striking in its difference from the actual ending in the film. Had Disney gone with this ending, it’s interesting to think about how it would have altered the future of the franchise. For example, what would this have meant for Woody?
Don’t miss your chance to check out this and other bonus features when ‘Toy Story 4’ is released next month. It comes out digitally on October 1st and Blu-Ray on October 8th.
