VIDEO: Star Wars Young Adult Novelist Visits Locations From Her Novel at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge

As a little girl growing up in Queens, NY Zoraida Córdova was so inspired by the Star Wars films that she felt the drive to become a writer and create her own Star Wars stories.

Zoraida’s short fiction appeared in the New York Times best-selling anthology Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View. Her latest Young Adult novel, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge: A Crash of Fate, is set in the world of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the new Star Wars-themed land at both Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge: A Crash of Fate introduces two new characters to the Star Wars universe- Izzy and Jules. The pair were childhood friends, dreaming of adventures they would share one day. Izzy’s family leaves the planet Batuu abruptly with no chance to say goodbye and eventually grows up to become a smuggler. Jules, on the other hand, is a farmer. Thirteen years later they have a chance encounter and quickly find themselves in the adventure of their lives.

Zoraida recently saw the realization of her Star Wars dreams and the magical worlds she creates in her writing by visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida.
