‘Halloween Screams’ Fireworks Attract Massive Crowds to Disneyland
Over the past few months, we here at MickeyBlog have heard a lot of stories about Disney failing to bring in the capacity crowds for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge which is why it’s so nice to share a story of a different sort!
The OC Register ran a piece this weekend highlighting that guests showed up in droves for the return of the “Halloween Screams” fireworks display at Disneyland Resort. This resulted in both parking garages filling up to capacity on Friday night as crowds show up to kick off the Halloween Season!
According to the piece, both the 6500 space Pixar Pals garage and the 10,000-space Mickey & Friends garage filled to capacity by 8:20 pm on Friday (September 6th.)
This was also confirmed by Disneyland’s official Twitter feed. Check it out:

This meant that the lots where full as crowds piled in to see the “Halloween Screams” fireworks show at 9:30pm on Friday night. The crowds started to thin out again post fireworks with availability at the structure opening up about 10pm on Friday night. A lot of the excitement around the evening fireworks can be chalked up to the fact that this is the first year in a while that this seasonal fireworks display has been open to the general public. In the past (like at Walt Disney World) it was attached to the special ticketed Halloween Party which this year has been moved to Disney California Adventure Park.
Presented throughout Halloween Time at Disneyland, “Halloween Screams” is a wickedly wonderful fireworks display that is intended for guests of all ages. Master of Scare-omonies is none other than the Pumpkin King himself- Jack Skellington and his ghostly dog Zero. You’ll be awe-struck by the soaring flames, rising ghosts and castle projections featuring some of your favorite Disney Villains including Maleficent, Ursula and more! The whole production is set to a medley of Halloween-inspired songs!
Guests should note that all Disneyland Park fireworks display are dependent on weather or other conditions and are subject to change or cancellation. If this weekend’s parking garages are anything to go by, you’ll also want to arrive nice and early to ensure that you have a space at the upcoming shows!
