Tourist Guide to Batuu: What to Do on Your First Day on Batuu
Hello, weary travelers, and welcome to Batuu! Our planet resides on the outskirts of the galaxy, just before Wild Space begins. You shouldn’t travel any farther into such a dangerous place, but I invite you to spend a lot of time on our planet. As your host, I’m happy to tell you all of the points of interest throughout Black Spire Outpost. Here’s everything you should do during your first day on Batuu.
Take in the Sights
I don’t want to brag, but I’m told by many tourists that Batuu is the most beautiful planet that they’ve ever visited. Our residents know this, and we’ve built a lot of places where you can take pictures of the lush scenery.
Now, I should acknowledge that Black Spire Outpost has seen its fair share of battles as well. Many of the buildings here have survived a bombing or two in the day. In my opinion, the scars only add to the beauty of the place.
As you travel the land, you’ll have ample opportunities to take pictures or send videos back to your friends on your home planet…which is Earth, right? Well, your fellow Earthlings will feel jealousy when they see you posed beside the Millennium Falcon, the fastest ship in the galaxy. Of course, that’s just one of many tourist sights here.
On Batuu, you’ll see plenty of old vehicles that have gotten retired to our planet. They’re not in junkyards because they’re so pretty, and you’ll want to take a picture of them. You’ll find A-Wing and X-Wing Starfighters plus some Landspeeders.
You may even see some famous faces here on Batuu. Heroes of The Resistance like Rey and Chewbacca are always happy to pose for pictures, as long as no Stormtroopers are in the area. Speaking of which, you can also take a few snapshots with those Stormtroopers, although you should be aware that they’re armed and cranky.
My one suggestion for all tourists to Batuu is sincere. Always keep your camera ready. You never know when that perfect shot will provide a memory that will last a lifetime.
Grab a Bite to Eat
You’ll eat well at Black Spire Outpost…as long as you don’t ask too many questions. We source our meat locally here. So, yes, you’re eating alien monsters. But they’re grilled and seasoned to heighten the flavor. Plus, we’ve imported some of your Earth condiments and beverages.

What you should eat and drink depends on your hunger and thirst level. When you want something light, head over to the Milk Stand for a swig of Blue or Green Milk. Kat Saka’s Kettle is also great when you have the munchies. Kat’s trail mix treats are delectable.
For full meals, your best bets are Ronto Roasters and Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. I’m told that the proteins here will feel familiar to Earthlings, but the spices are decidedly Batuu’s own. Both restaurants allow for Mobile Ordering, a technologically advanced way of picking and paying for your food before you ever reach the restaurant.
The hottest spot at Black Spire Outpost isn’t a restaurant, though. It’s a bar called Oga’s Cantina. This bar serves delicious glow drinks and small bites. It even has a droid named R3X spinning the hottest intergalactic hits. Due to the popularity of the place, you will need to book an advanced reservation to get a table here, though.
Shop for Specialty Goods
Batuu isn’t exactly a hotbed of tourist activity, but we get our fair share. After all, you’re here, right? And we love to treat our guests to the finest goods on the planet.
We’ve set up a bunch of merchandising locations throughout Black Spire Outpost for your convenience. We’re certain that we have plenty of goods that you’ll find worthy of filling up your suitcase for your voyage back to Earth.
I’m going to suggest a few places where I think you’ll find the best souvenirs. The Toydarian Toyshop is perfect for the traveler who loves figurines, puzzles, and other trinkets. Bina’s Creature Stall is great for guests who love potential pets of all shapes and sizes. Please understand that they seem real more than they are real, though.
As I’ll discuss in a bit, Batuu has divided loyalties. Those of you who are loyal to the crown can find empire-approved gear at First Order Cargo. The rebels among us should visit Resistance Supply instead. Free advice: don’t bring a bag from one store into the other shop. It’s frowned upon.
Those of you with larger budgets can splash your intergalactic credits around Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. It has the most upscale merchandise on the planet.
Well, I say that Batuu harbors an open secret. A Jedi master’s goods are available at Savi’s Workshop. The skilled craftsman here will build a one-of-a-kind lightsaber for you as long as you prove that you’re worth. Similarly, Mubo’s Droid Depot will let you create your own droid from spare parts circling the conveyor belt.
Get a Job
The problem with shopping on Batuu is that it gets expensive quickly. You may need to get a job to increase your bank account. And it’s easier to do than you might expect.
Hondo Ohnaka currently has possession of the Millennium Falcon, which is on loan from the famous and heroic Wookie, Chewbacca. Hondo will ask you to run a mission on the Millennium Falcon.
When you perform well during this challenge, you may discover a few intergalactic credits in your account. Then again, whispers around town suggest that those who perform poorly could discover bad news. Mr. Ohnaka’s not above hiring a bounty hunter to punish guests who damage the famous starship.
Still, you should take the risk. Flying the Millennium Falcon is an unprecedented experience. It’s also another place where you should have your camera ready. Both the exterior and interior of the vessel have unforgettable photo ops.

Choose a Side
Black Spire Outpost is a nation divided. For a long time, members of The Resistance have hidden out here at the edge of the galaxy. In recent months, the First Order has shown up in force. The latter group is clearly searching for something that they believe is hidden somewhere on the surface of Batuu.
When you visit our planet, you’ll unfortunately need to pick a side. Whether you side with The First Order or The Resistance, you’ll discover a few places where you can tip the scale for your team.
You should use your datapad whenever you’re at Black Spire Outpost. I believe that you humans call it a smartphone. This device will allow you to hack various security ports around the settlement. You can either secure them or open them, depending on your motivations.
Please realize that word spreads fast in town. Many locals will know whether you lean toward The First Order or The Resistance. Don’t be surprised if some of them comment on your behavior. Hey, you can build a reputation even on your first day!
