Mom Heads to Disney World to Celebrate 1st Day of School
In what has to be one of our favorite feel-good stories of the year, Good Morning America recently ran a post about how one Orlando mom choose to celebrate her children head back to school after a Summer at home!
After dropping her kids off for the first day of school, Lisa DiNoto hopped in the car and went to Disney World! Her family only lives a few miles away. DiNoto told GMA during an interview, “It seemed totally natural to pop into the Magic Kingdom after I dropped the boys off at school to take a fun ‘Celebrating Being Here Alone.’
As anyone who has visited Disney before will tell you that a popular way to mark a special occasion while at Disney is to pick up a Celebration button at Guest Services. That’s exactly what DiNoto did with her’s reading “Celebrating the 1st day of school.” It wasn’t long before her button started drawing the attention of cast members and characters alike!
When asked what the favorite part of her Disney visit was, DiNoto mentions an encounter with Fairy Godmother who started laughing at the celebration button. DiNoto then said that the Fairy Godmother then, “Reached into her sleeve and pulled out a bag of pixie dust and handed it to me and said, ‘This is for you and only you. You use it today.’ It was one of those moments of connection that is really what the parks are all about.”
DiNoto runs a blog called The Castle Run. You can find out more about her visit here.
