Sample Some of the New Delicious Eats at California Adventure with Our Foodie’s Guide
For those heading to Disney California Adventure this summer, this park is the perfect combination of fun thrills, good vibes, and fantastic food. It’s the perfect location to grab a drink indulge in a summer stroll and tuck into one of the many incredible eats and treats you’ll find throughout the park. To provide you with a bit of snacking inspiration here’s a look at some of our favorites!
CHURROS – CARTS AND KIOSKS
We’ll start with one of the most iconic of all Disneyland treats- Churros! Similar to Disneyland park you’ll find this treat at kiosks and snack carts throughout the park. Disneyland Resort releases some mighty impressive seasonal churro flavorss that simply have to be tried or you can always go for the traditional cinnamon-sugar variety.
HAND-DIPPED ICE CREAM BARS FROM CLARABELLE’S HAND-SCOOPED ICE CREAM
In my personal option, no visit to Disney California Adventure would be complete without a trip to Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream where the ice cream bars are completely customizable. You can choose from your flavor of ice cream, have it dipped in chocolate and then accented with your choice of delicious toppings. If you can’t decide which topping you like most go for The Whole Herd options which includes them all!
MEMORY REFRESHERS at BING BONG’S SWEET STUFF
For those looking for a colorful sweet treat, head over to Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff on Pixar Pier. You’ll find a variety of sweets including saltwater taffy, rainbow cotton candy and our favorite the Memory Refresher. These technicolour frozen drinks come in a variety of delicious flavor combinations! We suggest you try them all!
Hotdogs, Corn Dogs and More Dogs- Oh My!
Sometimes no lunch item quite captures that feeling of strolling through the theme parks like a delicious hot dog and at Disney California Adventure there is no shortage of options. Corn Dog Castle near Paradise Gardens is a great spot as well as Award Wieners in Hollywood Land! Or you can also spice it up a bit of a visit to Angry Dogs on Pixar Pier. From all-beef hotdogs to veggie dogs to corn dogs you’ll find it all at Disneyland!
FUNNEL CAKE FRIES AT AWARD WIENERS
Located in Hollywood Land, Aware Wieners doesn’t just serve up mouth-watering hot dogs. They’re also known for their warm and delightful funnel cake fries. You can get them topped with lots of yummy sweets like fruity cereal, cookies and cream crumbles, whipped cream, sprinkles, and other fun seasonal toppings.
SAVORY CONES AT THE COZY CONE MOTEL
Next, we vroom on over to Cars Land to check out one of the i-cone-ic snacks on offer. Their bread cone offerings here look like snacks but eat like a meal and are filled with either beef chilli and cheddar cheese or creamy bacon mac and cheese. Here at MickeyBlog we also recommend your wash these down with a themed speciality beverage. Our favorite is the “Pair of Dice” Soda!
FLO’S FAMOUS FRIED CHICKEN AT FLO’S V8 CAFÉ
For those with a hankering for something savory, head on over to Flo’s V8 Cafe in Radiator Springs for a crispy, crunchy, tender and delicious order of fried chicken. Order it up with garlic mashed potatoes, gravy and seasonal veggies.
LEMON SOFT-SERVE AT ADORABLE SNOWMAN FROSTED TREATS
One of our favorite ice cream treats has to be the delicious lemon soft-serve being served up at Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats in Pixar Pier. You can also get it in a parfait with a Blue Raspberry Swirl. Either way, one thing is for certain. You’ll love it!
FRESHLY-BAKED SOURDOUGH BREAD FROM THE BOUDIN BAKERY AND PACIFIC WHARF CAFÉ
If you’re a bread lover then the sourdough bread that comes out of the Boudin Bakery is absolutely amazing. You’ll find it at Pacific Wharf Café in the form of bread bowls served full of warm soups. You can also purchase a loaf of the bread in the shape of Mickey! Guests can even take a tour of the bakery and see how Disney’s talented team of bakers create the most popular bread on property.
GHIRARDELLI SODA FOUNTAIN AND CHOCOLATE SHOP
Here’s something for all you ice cream lovers. The Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop is located adjacent to Pacific Wharf. Here you’ll find everything from sundaes and cones to shakes and hot drinks. But they all have one thing in common. They’re made with premium Ghirardelli Chocolate. One of our favorite treats is the Magical Sundae with two scoops of vanilla ice cream hand-made hot fudge and whipped cream topped with sprinkles and chocolate-dipped waffle ears.
Smoothies and Other Treats from Schmoozies
Sometimes nothing beats the heat quite like a smoothie. Head over to this eatery in Hollywood Land where you’ll find them in abundance. Guests can choose from a variety of flavors including Mango Madness, Strawberry Banana Sensation and more!
MINI DONUTS AT THE LAMPLIGHT LOUNGE
Offering sweeping views of Pixar Pier, Lamplight Lounge is an incredible Pixar-themed dining experience that you just can’t miss out on! The menu features everything from themed cocktails to a tasty menu of shareable bites and the star of the show- cinnamon sugar donuts with dipping sauces (only available downstairs). Recommendations for this eatery are strongly encouraged.
CARTHAY SIGNATURE FRIED BISCUITS AT CARTHAY CIRCLE RESTAURANT
Located at the front of the park, Carthay Circle Restaurant and Carthay Circle Lounge offer a menu full of Southern California flavors. One of the must-have items on the menu is the Carthay Signature Fried Biscuits. These little balls of dough are stuffed with white cheddar, bacon, and jalapeño and served with apricot-honey butter, and you just HAVE to try them. Other highlights include the Pan-roasted Filet Mignon with pine nuts and the green peppercorn chimichurri. You’ll also find an extensive array of wines (including several selections from the Disney Family of Wines) as well as classic signature cocktails and bottled beer. This is an extremely popular restaurant so be sure to make your reservations in advance! And if you’re looking for a quicker lounge experience, Carthay Circle Lounge is the perfect spot to visit with seating indoors at the bar and outdoors at the newly-added patio space.
