RUMOR: Could Disney Be Launching Its Own Airline?
It’s a new week Disney friends and you know what that means – a new round of Disney rumors. There’s one currently making the rounds online that Disney is considering establishing its own airline!
The UK newspaper The Telegraph, as well as various online blogs, are reporting that using a Disney airline to get to and from the theme parks could be a reality beginning in 2021. The Walt Disney Company has apparently set its sights on requiring smaller regional airlines which will offer services out of Orlando and to other major airport hubs including Chicago, LaGuardia, LAX, Detroit and more.
Were the project to become a reality, it could provide a big dose of Disney magic for families in the lead into their Disney resort stays. Rumors suggest the planes will be branded with some of your favorite Disney characters and will also include access to fun onboard amenities like inflight access to the Disney+ online streaming service. Other suggestions are that the planes will have their own built-in Disney soundtrack (just like when you are at the theme parks) along with character meet and greets prior to taking off.
There’s even a suggestion that Disney delicacies could be served on-board with guests enjoy iconic theme park treats like Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars and churros before you even set foot on Main Street U.S.A.
This means from the moment you head to the airport most of your guest experience could be Disney-fied. From themed planes to the complimentary shuttle to and from the airport, families could enjoy a more cohesive Disney experience!
