Recently Acquired By Disney, National Geographic To Appear at D23 for the First Time
We’ve got some exciting news for all you intrepid adventurers! Disney’s enormous fan event D23 Expo is coming to Anaheim next month and for the first time (due large and in part to Disney’s recent acquisition) National Geographic will have a booth at the conference! During D23 the network will be inspiring curiosity from a look at what it takes to free solo climb to exploring the “why” behind the “wow” of gray matter!
So be prepared to immerse yourself in an adventure! To give you a taste of the National Geographic programming at D23 check out some of these awesome highlights!
Show Floor Offerings:
Alex Arnold Book Signing – Friday, August 23rd from 1 to 2 pm.
Legendary rock climber Alex Honnold will be signing copies of his book. You’ll undoubtedly know him as the incredible climber featured in the Academy Award-winning film Free Solo. During the groundbreaking film, he documented his climb on the face of the 3,200-foot El Captain in Yosemite National Park without a rope!
Meet Dr Jan Pol – Saturday, August 24th from 3-4 pm
You’ll know him from The Incredible Dr Pol on Nat Geo WILD’s number one series. Learn about his daily adventures which include everything from checking a cow for pregnancy or helping a goat with pneumonia.
Meet Sue Aikens – Sunday, August 25th from 11 am to Noon
Find out all about navigating Alaska’s subzero temperatures and more when you meet Sue Aikens from the multiple Emmy Award®-winning series Life Below Zero. Aikens will be sharing details about her jaw-dropping lifestyle in the remote corners of our northern-most state. She’ll also be on hand to sign autographs, pose for photos and share her incredible tales.

WOMEN OF IMPACT: Meet the Nat Geo Explorers Changing the World – Saturday, August 24th from 10 am to 11 am
Head Over to Stage 28 to learn from an amazing panel of women on the front lines of exploration, conservation and storytelling. The panellists do everything from piloting submarines and getting up close to lions and tigers to breakdancing! Members of the panel include submersible pilot and founder of a girls’ underwater camp, Erika Bergman; multimedia storyteller and Planet or Plastic ambassador Lilly Sedaghat; and large-carnivore expert Dr Rae Wynn-Grant.
Power Up Your Brain With Keegan-Michael Key – Sunday, August 25th from 12:30 – 1:30 pm
Get a first look at the reboot of Brain Games, National Geographic’s hugely popular series. During this panel featuring Keegan-Michael Key, you’ll be playing some fun mind-bending interactive challenges. Top-class mentalist Lior Suchard will be joining him on stage to delivery what is being touted as a “mind-blowing” experience.
In addition to all of the awesome offerings listed above, National Geographic is creating a floor show called Beneath the Blue. The show promises to be a breathtaking underwater world as you journey to explore the oceans and learn more about the impact of single-use plastic on marine life.
