6 of Our Favorite Disney World Resort Splash Play Areas
For those planning a Walt Disney World getaway, you can’t beat a good pool area. But it’s not just about the swimming pools themselves. For those with smaller children, a good splash play area can provide hours of entertainment and the perfect way for tiny tots to burn all that access energy. When it comes to awesome Disney resort splash zones some hotels are better than others so if it’s an amenity that is important to your gang then check out this list of our favorites:
Fuentes del Morro Splash Zone – Disney’s Caribbean Resort
Little ones can cavort at the shipwreck play area, complete with mini slides, a crow’s nest and a barrel of laughs that dispenses a drenching downpour. Trust us when we say that it’s hours of endless pirate-themed fun! In addition, the central pool area is set up like a Spanish Fort complete with water cannons that small ones looking to brave the big pool are sure to love!
Aquatic Play Area – Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter
A family favorite in the Moderate category due to it’s fun New Orleans-theming and smaller size, Port Orleans French Quarter also has a fairly new and wonderful play area with a Mardi Gras theme. Designed for guests 48 inches and under it includes water slides perfect for pint-sized guests. It includes water cannons and bubbling fountains and is adjacent to the main pool area which means that it’s easy for parents to keep track of both young and older kids while poolside.
Alice in Wonderland Themed Water Play Area – Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
We are absolutely in love with this kids area at the Grand Floridian which offers a fun Alice in Wonderland tea party and a splashtacular pool party all in one! Sitting at the top of the water playground structure is Mad Hatter’s hat that dumps water when it fills up. You’ll also find an oversized teapot that cascades water onto a series of teacups. Kids can also have fun playing under sprinklers and water spots or coasting down one of two mini waterslides.
Schoolyard Sprayground – Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
For tiny travellers, it doesn’t get much more special than the giant Finding Nemo themed central pool area at this much-loved Disney value resort. Little ones will want to head right over to the Sprayground, a unique area featuring pop-up jets, gushing water and some of your favorite Pixar friends! The Big Blue Pool is also zero-entry if your tiny tots want to dip their toes in the big area. However, parents definitely monitor little ones closely as the central pool area at Art of Animation is huge!
Kiki Tikis – Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
We love the tropical tiki atmosphere at the Poly’s pint-sized water play area. Kiki Tikis features an amazing water playground structure allowing limitless fun for kids looking to climb, slide, splash and more! They’ll enjoy weaving through the mysterious tunnels, hidden alcoves and hands-on activities that are scattered throughout the area! The sprayground also brings the island vibes making the whole family really feel like you’re really on holiday!
Uwanja Camp Splash Zone – Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village
For those staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge’s villa property Kidani Village, you’ll definitely want to check out this awesome water playground. It has three distinct areas offering hours of playtime from gently bubbing geysers to a shallow cistern pool.
