Official Closing and Refurbishment Dates Announced for Several Epcot Attractions
As you probably know by now, several Epcot attractions will be closing, refurbished, or temporarily relocated due to the reimagining of Future World. Today, we have received official confirmation when these attractions will be closing to make way for the future of Epcot.
Permanent Closures
Fountain of Nations
One of the centerpieces of Epcot’s Future World, the Fountain of Nations, will close for good on September 8, 2019.
Electric Umbrella
One of Epcot’s other quick-service locations, Electric Umbrella will be closing this winter.
Innoventions East
The entire Innoventions East complex will also be closing as of September 8, 2019. There are two attractions still in Innoventions East that will both see their last days in the near future. They are Nanooze Break and Colortopia.
Camera Center
The headquarters for all of your photo-snapping needs will close permanently on September 8, 2019 to make room for another popular Epcot location to be rehomed.
Heritage Manor in the American Adventure
Heritage Manor will close its doors for good on September 8 to make room for another location that is closing in Epcot’s Future World.
Epcot Attractions That are Relocating
Epcot Character Spot
The popular character meet and greet spot in Epcot will temporarily close on September 8, 2019. However, Guests will still be able to snap a selfie with their favorite Disney Pals at other locations throughout the Park as listed below:
- Minnie Mouse will move into the World Showcase Gazebo.
- Daisy Duck will move to The American Adventure.
- While new locations are being developed for Mickey Mouse and Goofy, they will temporarily appear in Innoventions West.
In the near future, Mickey Mouse will move to an all-new location in the Imagination! Pavilion. - Goofy will venture out into the park—and soon will find a new home.
- Joy will move soon too—to a joyous new home.
- And a silly old bear will return to the United Kingdom pavilion—welcome back Winnie the Pooh, who will greet Guests at Christopher Robin’s bedroom beginning in September 2019!
Pin Central
The popular pin merchandise location will close on September 8, 2019. However, if you are looking to purchase or trade some pins while you are in Epcot, the Camera Center will be closing later this year and Pin Central will be moving in there.
Fountain View
Fountain View, home to Epcot’s Starbucks, will be closing in “late fall.” Have no fear though Starbucks fans! The quick-service spot will be moving to a temporary home during the reimagination process.
Club Cool
Yes, that’s right. It’s time to say goodbye to “Beverly” – temporarily. The soda sampling spot will close in its current location on September 8, 2019 but open in a new location later on.
Art of Disney
The Epcot Art spot will close on September 8, 2019 in Epcot but will be relocated to the soon-to-be-closed Heritage Manor in the American Adventure.
Mouse Gear
The premiere merchandise spot in Epcot will close for refurbishment this winter but it will be moved to a temporary location during the remodeling process.
