Harambe at Night: An African Inspired Dining Adventure
This summer, families will be able to partake in a brand-new African-inspired dining experience- Circle of Flavors: Harambe at Night. This family-friendly, progressive dining experience draws from the many facets of African cultures.
Guests will celebrate the story of “The Lion King” as well as honor the most majestic and endangered African animals. This event promises delicious flavors, fun activities, live music, and appreciation for animal conservation.
The Evening’s Events
Guests will arrive for a welcome reception at the train station in Harambe. Then everyone will hop on a train and head off to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. Here, guests will be able to try out a one-of-a-kind virtual reality experience. Get a 360-degree safari experience like you’ve never seen before with the help of VR. You’ll enjoy the sights and sounds of Pride Rock as you come face-to-face with the African lions.
Finally, guests will hop back on the train and head to your final destination: Harambe Market. In addition to a delicious dinner, guests will be entertained by upbeat African musicians, a dance party, and captivating storytelling.
The Food
The Harambe at Night welcome reception will offer a selection of tasty bites to get your evening started. An array of meat pies, Durban chips and dip, and a selection of meats and cheese await you. In addition, guests age 21 and older will be able to enjoy Harambellini – a specialty mix of South African wine blended with passion fruit, orange and guava juices. Anyone (kids included) with a less-adventurous palate, will be able to enjoy cheese, fruits, and Tofaa (Chocolate caramel-dipped green apples).
At the welcome reception, guests will receive their boarding passes to hop on the train fro Rafiki’s Planet Watch. Here guests will enjoy a meet and greet with Timon and Rafiki, the safari-inspired VR experience, and more tasty treats. The palatable line-up includes spiced crisp plantains, South African oat and coconut bars, and Sundowner Safari Mix with spiced nuts and dried fruit. Kids will also find seasonal fruit, Trail Mix Bites with granola, chocolate chips, raisins, and honey. This location will offer two specialty beverages – the Chief’s Shandy (Tusker beer blended with lemonade) and Wanjohi’s Dawa (tequila, pineapple, mango, and Ancho chile).
The Main Course
At Harambe Market, a delicious dinner of hearty dishes and African animal inspired desserts await. Around the marketplace, you’ll find stations representing each of the animals and a selection of offerings in the courtyard:

- Char-Grilled Steak with Herb-infused Mealie, Chakalaka, and a Red Wine Sauce
- Chicken with Fingerling Potatoes, Kool Slaai, and Mango Sambal

- Shrimp Curry with Sustainable Shrimp, Cape Malay Green Coconut Curry, and Fragrant Basmati Rice
- Grilled Sweet Corn with Farmer’s Cheese, Chili-Lime Spice, and Citrus Aioli

- Vegetable Curry with Roasted Seasonal Vegetables served over Basmati Rice
- Vegetarian Potato and Pea Samosa, Pickled Vegetables, and Tamarind Dipping Sauce

- Lions S’mores Pop with Chocolate and Graham Cracker Crumbs
Specialty Beverages
- Talking Monkey – Coffee Liqueur, Banana Liqueur, and Espresso-infused Snow Leopard Vodka
- Marketplace Sangria – Blend of African Wine and Rooibos Tea finished with a Citrus and Mint Infusion
- Safari Sunset – Passion Fruit, Strawberry, Orange, and Guava Juices blended with Rum
- Assorted African-inspired Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (Also available at the Welcome Reception and Rafiki’s Planet Watch Train Station)

The menus and options are subject to change, but at each station you’ll learn about each of the Big Five animals. Children are invited to choose their favorite Big Five animal charm and create their own bracelet or necklace.
Harambe at Night Sign Up’s
Circle of Flavors: Harambe at Night begins July 24, 2019 on select nights from 6-9pm at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Pricing is $125 plus tax for adults and $99 plus tax for children ages 3-9. Separate park admission is required to attend.
