Old Disney VHS Tapes Catch Big Bucks On eBay?
I honestly have no idea where any of mine may be. But apparently, if you have some old Disney VHS lying around (surely sporting their white cases), you could toss them on eBay; then make enough to pick up some DVDs. And some Blu-Rays. And maybe a car.
Wreck-It Ralph knew a thing or two about eBay (and he wasn’t — presumably — released on VHS):
Disney VHS Tapes Worth Cash?
I caught this story over on 7news.com.au:
If you’ve still got your collection of old Disney VHS tapes laying around, you might just be sitting on a gold mine.
Collections of Disney VHS tapes are being sold on eBay for up to $26,000 – with one set including classics such as Robin Hood, Cinderella, Aladdin, Beauty & The Beast, The Great Mouse Detective and The Rescuers: Down Under.
Some of the most valuable are the rare “black diamond tapes”, which were released by Disney between 1984 and 1993 and feature “The Classics” logo in the upper spine of the case with a black diamond around the outside.
Heck, I am not sure if I even have a VHS player anymore; never mind my once enviable collection of tapes. But while we are on the subject, not everyone agrees that your old VHS are worth all that much, although there are certainly sellers trying.
Snopes Says Nope(s)
Snopes, the fact-checking folks, are on this:
Here’s the question: Do you still have your tapes? If you could make money on your old Disney VHS Tapes, would you try to?
