Pixar Announces New Film ‘Soul’ Slated to Arrive in Theaters in 2020

With Pixar fans heading to the theaters this weekend to check out the latest instalment in the Toy Story franchise, we’ve got news about an exciting new project from the Pixar that is expected to be released next year! According to a recent piece in the Hollywood Reporter, The movie will be directed by Pete Doctor who was also behind the Pixar hits Inside Out and Up and has also been manning the ship over at Pixar after John Lasseter’s departure. The title of the film is Soul and it is slated to be released in theatres on June 19, 2020.

Though Pixar is being a bit tight-lipped about the project, the description reads as such: “Ever wonder where your passion, your dreams and your interests come from? What is it that makes you…YOU? In 2020, Pixar Animation Studios takes you on a journey from the streets of New York City to the cosmic realms to discover the answers to life’s most important questions.”

Soul is slated to hit theatres a few months after Pixar’s Onward which is scheduled to be released on March 6, 2020. As we reported earlier this month Onward will star Chris Pratt and Tom Holland as teenage elf brothers embarking on an exciting quest to find the remaining magic in the world.
