Your Guide to the 2019 Holiday Season at Walt Disney World
The month have just changed to June but it’s time to start thinking Christmas! The holiday season at Walt Disney World is truly magical and something that everyone should experience. 2019 will mark the return of several festive favorites from years past as well as some new events that are not to be missed.
Check out what is in store for you this holiday season at all four of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks and Disney Springs:
Holiday Festivities Take Over Disney’s Animal Kingdom During the 2019 Holiday Season at Walt Disney World
For the first time ever, holiday cheer will be spread across all of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. When you cross the bridge to Discovery Island, you will be fully immersed into a winter celebration. During the day on Discovery Island, life-sized puppets of your favorite animals will mix and mingle with Guests. When the sun sets, rooftop luminaries in animal shapes and bird lanterns will give the Island a joyful glow.
That’s not where the magic ends though! The Tree of Life will awaken with a series of wintry tales emerging from within, backed by a heartwarming holiday musical score. Children of all ages will delight as the Tree of Life continues to sparkle and shine throughotut the night with the magic of nature and the spirit of the holiday season at Walt Disney World!

A New Fireworks Show Headlines Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom
As we reported this morning, a new fireworks show has been announced for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom. Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks will celebrate the magic of the season and feature your favorite Christmas songs. The new show will debut during the first Mickey’s Very Christmas party of the season on November 8. There is a total of 23 Christmas parties this year on select nights until December 22.
In addition to the all-new Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Guests will also be able to expereince old favorites including Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas, Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration stage show, and my favorite, A Frozen Holiday Wish stage show featuring Queen Elsa transforming Cinderella Castle into a magical snow palace.

The Candlelight Processional, Holiday Kitchens, and More Offered at Epcot During the 2019 Holiday Season at Walt Disney World
Another event that keeps Guests coming back year-after-year to celebrate the holiday season at Walt Disney World is the Candlelight Processional during the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays. Just this morning, the first group of narrators was confirmed and includes Whoopi Goldberg, Pat Sajak, and more.
The Festival of the Holidays also offers holiday decor, entertainments, themed merchandise, festive cuisine, costumed storytellers from the 11 World Showcase Pavilions. Special Holiday Kitchens are set up around the World Showcase and offer tasty treats inspired by treasured holiday recipes from all around the world. Each of the pavilions light up with the sights and sounds of special entertainment celebrating each country’s holiday heritage. If a visit with Ol’ Saint Nick is on your list, head over to The American Adventure pavilion for a meet and greet with Santa and Mrs. Clause.
Another favorite is the Chip & Dale Christmas Tree Spree Scavenger Hunt. Guests are invited to search throughout the World Showcase for the chipmunk duo and their ornaments. Guests who participate in the scavenger hunt and return their completed maps will receive a special holiday surprise.
Guests who also decide to spend the holiday season at Walt Disney World and Epcot will be able to enjoy the new nighttime spectacular, Epcot Forever, that is scheduled to premiere on October 1, 2019.
The Festival of the Holidays at Epcot for the 2019 holiday season at Walt Disney World is scheduled to begin on November 29 and run through December 30, 2019.
Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!, Sunset Seasons Greetings, and More Return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for 2019
Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be once again offering some of their favorite holiday events including Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! and Sunset Seasons Greetings. As well as a twist from the “Dark Side!”
Sunset Seasons Greetings features projections on the Tower of Terror, breathtaking special effects, and “snow” along with storytelling, signing, and holiday cheer from your favorite Disney Pals.
Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! is the holiday-themed fireworks spectacular that lights up the sky over Disney’s Hollywood Studios each night during the festive season. The show offers cheerful music and state-of-the-art projections over the skies of the Chinese Theater.
And, my family’s favorite, For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along will feature a cameo by everyone’s favorite, Olaf, that’s not to be missed!
With the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on August 29, Guests will also be able to stop by the new Land and find the perfect gift from a galaxy far, far away!
Disney Springs Will Be the Shopping, Dining, & Entertainment Headquarters for the 2019 Holiday Season
Beginning November 8, 2019 and lasting all the way until January 5, 2020, Disney Springs will be your holiday headquarters! Guests can check-off everyone on their holiday shopping list at the dozens of stores at Disney Springs.
While browsing the shops, Guests will also be treated to toy soldier stilt walkers, carolers, and Living Statues in their holiday finest.
After you wrap up the shopping, head over to the popular Christmas Tree Trail to be treated to holiday-themed Christmas tree decorated with your favorite Disney characters and attractions.
Santa Clause will also be on hand at Santa’s Chalet until December 24, to hear the Christmas Wish Lists of children of all ages. Beginning on December 25 and until December 31, Goofy Santa will take Santa’s place after he returns to the North Pole.
Guests looking to participate in another scavenger hunt during the 2019 holiday season at Walt Disney World can do so at Disney Springs with Stitch’s Holiday Gift Hunt.
