10 Attractions at Walt Disney World With the Shortest Wait Times
With the arrival of Memorial Day comes the beginning of the Summer Season at Walt Disney World. This Summer Season at Walt Disney World typically means large crowds and high temperatures. For those seeing refuge from both, we here at MickeyBlog thought we’d share with you a list of some of our favorite Walt Disney World attractions with little to no wait times. Over the years, these attractions have become our favorites when we’re looking to rest those weary feet or avoid long summertime queues!

Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover – Magic Kingdom
We’ll start with one of our favorite ways to take a break at Magic Kingdom. This elevated tram provides a 10-minute leisurely voyage through Tomorrowland. You’ll enjoy a bird’s eye view of rides such as Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Mickey’s Star Traders and the Tomorrowland Speedway while you enjoy the slow pace and cool breeze. Because this is a constantly loading attraction lines rarely exceed 5 minutes even during the afternoon.

Journey Into the Imagination With Figment – Epcot
Though this ride is a bit dated, the lovely dragon of the imagination – Figment is still a Walt Disney World icon making this a fun attraction to relax and enjoy. Visitors can take a journey into the imagination on this constantly loading ride located in Epcot’s Future World. It’s rare to see lines for this classic attraction exceed 5-minutes making it great if you have some time to kill before your Soarin’ Fastpasses or your Garden Grill dining reservation. The attraction also empties out into ImageWorks a hands-on area with lots of fun interactive displays for kids to enjoy. That makes the Imagination Pavilion a nice stop in the afternoon heat or during those infamous Florida downpours.
It’s Tough to Be a Bug- Animal Kingdom
This attraction is located in a theater that actually sits at the bottom of The Tree of Life. With shows happening regularly throughout the day you can typically walk right into this cool, dark theater. This 4D production entertains with a look at a wide variety of insect friends and featuring many characters from “A Bugs Life.” However, a quick note of caution, if you’re little ones are squeamish when it comes to creepy crawlies this show can be a bit creepy.
MuppetVision 3D – Hollywood Studios
With all of the hustle and bustle on Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards not to mention the new Toy Story Land, it’s nice to head over to this Muppet-themed show for break from the crowds. MuppetVision 3D is another one of Disney World’s slightly dated attractions but it’s still a lot of fun especially for Muppet fans! Showtimes happen throughout the afternoon and even if you arrive when a show is already taking place you’re quickly wrangled into an inside area that is cool and never really that crowded! The show itself is fun as Kermit, Miss Piggy and friends take you on a zany tour of their theater including their new invention: MuppetVision 3D!
Mickey’s Philharmagic – Magic Kingdom
I’ve always felt that this is one of Disney’s most underrated attractions and it’s a favorite with my family when temperatures and crowds start to get to us! Centrally located in Fantasyland, this fun 4D concert takes visitors through amazing scenes and musical numbers from some of your favorite Disney films including Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Peter Pan and Aladdin. Performances happen regularly. The theater is dark and air-conditioned and guests are allowed to wait inside for the next performance. You can typically walk right into the next show!
Grand Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros -Epcot
Since there are only two rides located in the World Showcase, looking for a reprieve from the heat as you stroll around the World can be difficult. Good thing this attraction is housed inside the pyramid in the Mexican Pavilion. Its dark nighttime setting will put you immediately at ease! This ride typically has little to no wait times and is a fun look at Mexican culture compliments of Donald and his two other feathered friends Jose and Panchito! It’s similar to it’s a small world meaning big on nostalgia!
Voyage of the Little Mermaid – Hollywood Studios
For fans of The Little Mermaid or those just looking for a quick Hollywood Studios attraction to enjoy, this show is the perfect option. The lines for this quick musical rundown of key scenes from this beloved Disney film are almost always under 10 minutes. Princess fans will love catching a glimpse of Ariel in Mermaid form and a giant puppet Ursula adds just the right amount of thrills. The show is short (I mean very short) but it’s perfect for squeezing in a quick attraction before waiting for Toy Story Fastpasses or dining reservations.
TriceraTop Spin – Animal Kingdom
This is essentially Animal Kingdom’s version of Dumbo the Flying Elephant and is nestled away in the Dinonland USA section of the park. With short wait times, this attraction is a perfect option for families with little ones that may be getting grumpy over long ride queues and hot temperatures. It’s a colorful breezy spin through the park and conveniently located next to awesome eateries and close to the Finding Nemo stage show making it an easy quick diversion!
Prince Charming Regal Caroussel – Magic Kingdom
I love this as an option for kids that are desperate to hop on a ride without the wait times. This whimsical merry-go-round is located right in the heart of Fantasyland near the castle. With wait times typically around the 10-15 minute mark, this ride loads quickly and it’s beautiful theming and gorgeous views make it a great attraction to nab some magical photos.
Mad Tea Party – Magic Kingdom
When the lines on neighboring attractions like The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train start to get out of control this ride is a fun go-to option. Now admittedly there are times when lines for this colorful attraction can exceed 30 minutes but it doesn’t happen that often. Typically you can typically hop a ride in under 10 minutes as Mad Tea Party loads pretty quickly. This fun classic ride also makes for another awesome photo op so have your cameras at the ready!
