An All-New Holiday Experience Takes Over All of Animal Kingdom This Holiday Season
The holiday season at Walt Disney World is always an extra magical time. But, this year, things are going to the next level thanks to the all new holiday experience taking over all of Animal Kingdom this year. The new experience will be everywhere around the Park as Animal Kingdom decks the halls from the floor to the sky.
Discovery Island
Guests will be taken to a winter wonderland as soon as they cross the bridge into Discovery Island. Guests will find themselves in the middle of a celebration of winter with features hand-crafted by the eclectic community of artists who call Discovery Island home. The halls will be decked with sparkling white holiday decor and Guests will see colorful, animal-inspired luminaries lining the rooftops of the buildings on the Island. Guests can also look to the skies to see wire frame lanterns in the shape of breathtaking birds.
But that’s not all! During this new holiday experience at Animal Kingdom, Guests will find a gathering of winter animals brought to life by life-size, artisan-sculpted puppets in Discovery Island. Puppets such as reindeer, foxes, polar bears, penguins and more will interact with guests. Guests will also be able to enjoy the sounds of the season performed by serenading musicians.
When the sun goes down, the rooftop luminaries and bird lanterns around Discovery Island will bring a warm glow to the holiday village. This is also when the Tree of Life awakens with a series of wintry tales told to some of your favorite holiday tunes. As the night goes on, the Tree of Life will continue to shimmer and shine alive with the magic of nature and the spirit of the holidays.
Dinoland, U.S.A.
Donald and his pals at Donald’s Dino Bash will also be getting into the holiday spirit during the the new holiday experience at Animal Kingdom. Dinoland, U.S.A. will be decked in festive holiday decor while Donald invites all Guests to rock around the Truck-O-Saurus for the Holiday Hoopla Dance Party with Chip n’ Dale. You also won’t want to miss all the interactive fun and games!
Asia
Guests can head over to Asia and check out how the residents of Anadapur have decorated the theater district to celebrate Diwali – the holiday festival of lights in India. During this new holiday experience at Animal Kingdom, Guests will be treated to glowing flowers, lanterns and more illuminating the square between Anandapur Theater and the waterfront stage.
Africa
The village of Harambe in Africa invites Guests to celebrate the season with a unique holiday presentation which blends the inspiration and style of western traditions with the colors and textiles of authentic African celebrations. During the new holiday experience at Animal Kingdom, various groups throughout the village will feature costume additions and holiday-themed music in their performances.
Make sure to grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner while in Africa at Tusker House. Mickey and his friends will be on hand to spread holiday cheer to all!
