Amazon Same Day Delivery Has Arrived for Resort Guests at Walt Disney World
Though the service has been around for a wee while now, we cannot stop extolling the virtues of Amazon Prime Now which offers a same day delivery service for any Amazon Prime Members staying in Orlando including Walt Disney World Resorts.
Using this handy service, guests no longer need to worry about leaving important items like deodorant, toothpaste or other vacationing essentials at home or shelling out for expensive Disney toiletries. With Amazon Prime Now all of these awesome items can be delivered directly to your resort in 2-hours meaning you don’t need to go without! And since it’s Amazon you can order everything from a Fire HD tablet so that you can watch videos poolside to headphones, electric razors and more.
However, the main reason I’ve used the service is to have groceries delivered to my room. I’ve ordered everything from protein bars, bottled water, cereal, milk, plastic bowls and utensils and so much more! Amazon’s recent acquisition of Whole Foods has also helped to widen the grocery selection. Though you won’t find bargain basement prices if using the service, what it lacks in bargains it makes up for in sheer convenience.
So How Does the Service Work?
You need to be an Amazon Prime Member to enjoy this perk. Ordering is done from the website or the Prime Now app. You can choose from a wide assortment of options that can be delivered within the two-hour window. In order to take advantage of same-day delivery, guests must place an order greater than $20. Delivery is FREE if selecting the 2-hour delivery window or $7.99 if you want express delivery arriving within an hour.
When you are filling out the delivery instructions you must fill out the ENTIRE Address to your Walt Disney World resort. You can typically find this information online. When organizing delivery my advice is to be sure to type in the name of your resort, the word GUEST and your name after it. (There’s no need to include your confirmation number and it’s safer if you don’t.)
Your order will be delivered to Bell Services/Front Desk which will hold on to the package while you are out enjoying the theme parks. However, in my experience, you as the guest need to be proactive about getting in touch with the Front Desk to have your package located. You can either go down to bell services to pick up your delivery or have them sent up to your room. However, it should be noted that Disney has recently amended it’s room delivery service and does reserve the right to charge you a $6 fee for packages delivered to your room.
You can find out more about Disney’s delivery fees here.
You can’t beat this service for ease of use, speed and value (especially if you’re already an Amazon Prime Member. The only CONS I’ve encountered when using the service is that prices are a bit more expensive than your local Walmart and tracking down your purchase once it arrives at your resort can be a hassle.
For those looking for a more grocery-focused service, there are several additional options that we recommend. You can find out more about them here.
