This arrest follows an on-going investigation that began with the stolen “Buzzy” animatronic from the closed attraction “Cranium Command“. Spikes developed a social media account in which he was providing followers with backstage photos and videos against company policy.

Spikes’ later photographed and sold the stolen merchandise, under the guise that Disney had allowed him to take the costume pieces. His PayPal account showed that he received over $29,451.70 from two individuals in relation to the stolen goods.
One of the buyers (who is currently unnamed) cooperated with investigators and confirmed the transaction as well as turned over the items he had purchased from Spikes.
A trail of GPS tags, testimony from a buyer, and photographs have built a strong case. At this time, Spikes has been arrested for burglary, theft, and dealing in stolen property (fencing).
